We invite you to nominate local businesses and entrepreneurs for the Florida Business Boost Award. This award commemorates business entities that have demonstrated outstanding growth and impact in the local community.

Contest Rules

Introduction

SUBMISSION OF A COMPLETED APPLICATION AND AN ENTRY FEE ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER. NO ADDITIONAL PURCHASE NECESSARY. AN ADDITIONAL PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
THIS PROMOTION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

1. SPONSOR:

The Sponsor of the Business Boost Award of the Year Award Contest (“Contest”) is the Coral Springs/Parkland Entrepreneur Meetup, FL Business Boost Committee located at 2818 N University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33065.

2. HOW TO ENTER:

The Contest is open to local chambers that:
1) Complete an application for consideration of nominating three businesses from their local chamber for the Business Boost Award for outstanding contribution to the community

2) Submit proof of the nominate businesses contribution to the community; and submit an document of no more than three hundred words outlining the nominee community involvement.

3. SCHEDULE:
  • The Contest begins on May 4, 2016 and ends on May 3, 2017.  All online entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on May 3, 2017.
  • All mail entries must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2017.
  • Applications submitted outside these time periods will not be accepted for consideration.
  • It is each applicant’s responsibility to observe time zone differences.
4. ELIGIBILITY:

This Contest is open to small businesses with 2016 and 2017 annual revenues of less than $5 million per year and less than 100 employees. Individuals who are owners or co-owners of a small business or a majority interest in an eligible small business may be nominated. Such individuals must be of the age of majority in the state where they reside as of the date of the closing date of the Contest and legal residents of a state of Florida.  Employees (and their immediate family members and members of the same household) of the Sponsor and its affiliates, agents, advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
Also, pursuant to Congressional and Executive Branch ethics rules, Members of
Congress, Congressional staff members, Executive Branch officials and their staff members are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.
All winners in this Contest must meet these eligibility requirements to receive the prizes.

5. SELECTION OF WINNER:

One (1) winner will be selected to from each local participating chamber of commerce to receive a Business Boost Award.
The selection process is as follows:
A panel of judges comprised of Sponsors, the law firm Garrity Traina PLLC and select community leaders will review all nominations received.

Winners will be announced at the conference FL Business Boost Conference on May 28th and will receive an award
TO CLAIM PRIZE: Winners must be present in person at the Event held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33065

Winners will be required to sign a Winner Affidavit and Release form provided by Sponsor to claim the prize. Winners receiving prizes totaling $600 or more will be required to complete and sign IRS Form W9. Winners agree to permit Sponsor and its affiliates to use their name, likeness, address, and prize information for promotional purposes in any medium without any additional compensation or permission required to the extent permitted by law.

6. MISCELLANEOUS:

All taxes and other expenses associated with the prize unless otherwise stated herein are the winners sole responsibility. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. No other substitutions of prize permitted.

7. DELIVERY OF PRIZE:

The prize will be presented to the winner during the Event on May 4th, 2017.

8. GENERAL:

This Promotion and these Official Rules will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Florida, U.S.A.
Entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local
courts located in Florida.

This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to
applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. The Sponsor and its affiliates are not responsible for and disclaim any liability for late, lost, stolen, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, illegible, postage due, garbled, misaddressed, or misdirected delivery of prize to winner.

Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant if his or her fraud or misconduct affects the integrity of the Contest. By participating in this
Contest, each entrant accepts the terms and conditions stated in these Official Rules, agrees to be bound by the decisions of the judges and warrants that s/he is eligible to participate in this Contest. By accepting prize, winners agree to release Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective directors, employees, officers, assigns and agents, including without limitation, their advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability, loss or damages arising from or in connection with the awarding, advertising, receipt, and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any prize related activities.

9. ONLINE ENTRIES:

Sponsor shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or website, inability to submit the online entry form, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest, or for late, lost, stolen, postage due, illegible or misdirected entries.
If this Contest or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or otherwise does not permit entry in the Contest, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of the this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant implicated in such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Contest or any portion thereof.
